How To Get What You Want-April 2020

UPDATE: May 18, 2020:

Now that the store is open again (with safety measures in place), we are focusing once again on the in-store customer experience. Of course, if you are out of the area (or if you are still unable to shop in person for any reason) we will gladly help fulfill your requests by phone and email; we just don’t have staff dedicated to that purpose. On a case-by-case basis we can still accommodate curb-side pickup. Shipping is also an option.

You can call the store during our operating hours and speak to any associate to place your order

Monday – Saturday from 9:30 – 5:30
Sunday from 11:00 to 4:00

We’ve made a few changes to get you want you want!

We’ve been “technically” closed since March 23rd and, if you ask us, it’s been HARD!!

We miss our friends.
We miss being in the store.
We miss seeing you get excited about trying a new recipe or purchasing a special gift for someone you love.
Because we know you want to cook at home while you “shelter in place”, we started doing The Kitchen Company version of “online” sales and it’s been working so good we decided to extend the hours!

Starting April 21st, our new “hours” will be:

Monday – Saturday
10 am – 4pm

Here’s how to get what you need

1.

CALL the store between 10 am and 4 pm. We’ll take your order over the phone and get it ready for curbside pickup or local delivery (or shipping to far away places. This is a great option if you have questions about a product or aren’t sure exactly what you need. We only have two phone lines so please be patient if the line is engaged.

2.

EMAIL the store anytime. We’ll pull your items and get them ready for curbside pickup or local delivery. This is a great option if you know exactly what you want. Please include your phone number.

The temporary shut-downs due to covid-19 have posed some challenges to business owners who still want to be of service to their clients. You’ve seen it happen all over town; curbside service; social distancing; limited numbers of customers in a store at one time. These are just a few examples. For The Kitchen Company it’s a little different. Since we don’t have an e-commerce website (and we never intended to do online ordering), we thought we try to do the next best thing by offering customers a way to order by sending an email or calling the store on specific days. So far, it’s working and many of you have been able to get the things you need. In fact, one woman was able to place her order in the afternoon and have it delivered within a couple of hours. Let’s see Amazon beat that!

To make it a bit easier, we’ve taken some photos of the areas around the store. You should be able to click on a photo and then zoom in to take a closer look at the items in that section. There are over 17,000 different items so there is a lot to look at. This new avenue is the best we can do at the moment. All of the images are available on our Facebook page. Take a look!

When you are ready to order something, just send an email with your list and include your phone number so we can complete your order and arrange for delivery or shipping.

Hello friends!

This is certainly an unusual time that none of us has probably ever experienced. As you know, the store was ordered closed by the governor as of March 23rd. We have had several requests for ways that our customers can still make purchases so this is what we’ve come up with.

On Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays we will be in the store between 10 am and 2 pm. During this time, we will be available for phone orders. Just give us a call at 541-955-5311.

Alternately, you can place your order by email ( hello@thekitchencompanygp.com )and we will pull it and prepare it for you. If you email, be sure to include your phone number so we can complete the payment information over the phone.

We will deliver your order if you live within about 5 miles of the store. For those further away, we will ship your order and split the exact shipping cost with you 50/50.

A few of you have requested curb-side pick up but, after further research, we have discovered that we are not allowed to operate that way.

Returns will have to wait until we’re back to business as usual.

We ask that you please bear with us during this time as we all get used to doing business a little differently for awhile. We are sure that you are also looking for things to get back to normal. Until that time, we thank you for your continued support and kind words!

Sincerely,

Frank Wright and Roy Heinzle

A Winning Combination!

A Winning Combination!

Wow! What a way to kick off our new website and our reader blog! If you haven’t seen it yet, the August 1st issue of the Sneak Preview for Grants Pass includes the winners of the 2019 “Best of the Rogue Valley” and The Kitchen Company is mentioned in three categories!

We are so proud to be the winner of “Favorite Downtown Store”! We are equally as proud to be mentioned in the category “Best Gift Store”. Frank and Roy find themselves in good company in the “Favorite Businessperson” category.

We owe our success not only to our employees and the hard work of owners Frank and Roy but very much to our loyal customers who continue to shop in our store year after year. It’s been 16 years since we first opened our tiny little narrow shop one block north on 6th Street and, now in our third (and final) location, we still have the pleasure of serving some of the same customers who originally walked through our doors back in 2003.

Along the way, we’ve outgrown two locations but we’ve managed to keep things small enough to give personal attention to our customers but large enough to grow our following. It makes us feel so good when we hear that our store is a destination for visiting family and friends or a favored stop on the long drive up or down Highway 5.

It’s our goal to treat everyone with respect as we endeavor to bring the best kitchen accessories – gourmet or basic – to the folks in the Rogue Valley.

Thank you all for your votes!

We appreciate you!
