The Kitchen Company

The Kitchen Company was founded in 2003 by Frank Wright and Roy Heinzle. From humble beginnings on 6th Street in what used to be Rosso’s Italian Restaurant, Frank and Roy set out to fill a need in the community for a vibrant downtown shop that sold something other than antiques. With Roy’s background in kitchen accoutrements at Fred Meyer and Frank’s experience with entrepreneurship, The Kitchen Company was born.

In a short time, the long and narrow space on the south east side of 6th Street was outgrown and the store moved across the street into the double-fronted space now currently occupied by The Twisted Cork. Before long, that space was also filled to capacity and the company had taken on several new employees (some of whom are still working there today).

When a grand opportunity presented itself to take over what had been for many, many years MacLain’s Drug Store, the current iteration of The Kitchen Company was imagined and created. With much more floor space (and much higher ceilings), the endeavor was undertaken to remodel the interior and create not only a beautiful space but a unique (in this day and age) shopping experience. An experience that allows the shopper to actually see and touch the products they are considering purchasing. An experience that allows for the shopper to be catered to when choosing their next kitchen-related purchase. An experience in which all parties enjoy participating.
